Philippine Consulate in Houston was Inaugurated!

“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!”

Today, the Philippine Consulate in Houston was inaugurated after 25 years of absence. Yes, it is indeed “mission accomplished!” Borne out of the need for government presence and the clamor from thousands of Filipinos for better representation — the Philippine government under the Duterte Administration made our years of hopes and dreams a reality. Thanks also to the support of Houston’s vibrant international community and the men and women of the Filipino American community who were relentless in pushing for its opening. Prayers work! Harangan man daw ng sibat, if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. And God’s timing is always perfect! Mabuhay!

In attendance were members of Houston’s Consular Corps, Filipino community leaders, and members of the Philippine diplomatic corps headed by Philippine Ambassador to the US Hon. Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez . PCG Houston, Con.Gen. Jerrill Santos and the Consuls General from LA, Chicago, New York and San Francisco.

This is a capstone moment. Maraming salamat. Mabuhay!

Thank you Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston - F A C C G H for your encouragement and support of all our endeavors and initiatives through the years. Loloy Reyes and I remain grateful.
